NAS for 4k movies via Plex or other?

#2
Yes, you can use your existing PS or Xbox to stream 4K. Just like ShieldTV, it doesn't operate on a Linux backbone or other sub OS. You can get a simple cheap NAS solution like DS218/DS418 or even J series. Then mount a network drive on a PS or similar and stream this way.You can get a Netgear or any other 1GbE switch and split your connection from the socket near your TV. Any switch will do. WiFi streaming would require a new AX based router. But walls would affect performance.Plex subtitle is killer. They require transcoding. You might find this useful: https://nascompares.com/how-to-use-your-ps4-and-plex-a-handy-guide/I hope this helps.
