All NASes install their OS on HDDs. But you can use Qnap cache ports or M.2 SSD card to create a separate volume. You can then reinitialize it which will place an OS on this fast SSD. This will speed things app. Apps like Plex would benefit the most since all caching would be done on this fast media.I hope this helps.
