NAS selection and WiFi

#2
QNAP is the best fit if you want the strongest media server performance. Models like QNAP TS462 QNAP TS464 or QNAP TS464C have Intel CPUs with proper hardware transcoding for Plex and excellent Docker support for Jellyfin. They also let you upgrade RAM and even add 10GbE later. For a collection that could reach 70TB you should pick a 4 bay not a 2 bay. Four bays allow RAID5 so you get more space and better speed.

Ugreen DXP4800 Plus is also a good option but it has no hardware transcoding. For local playback it is perfect as long as your devices can direct play the files. For remote playback transcoding would fail. Ugreen has a modern interface fast remote access and excellent networking options but QNAP is still the stronger media server.

WiFi choices. UniFi WiFi 7 will be ideal. A future Ubiquiti Dream Router 7 or UDR plus WiFi 7 access points will give you high speed local streaming and no subscription fees. It does not matter if you install the WiFi upgrade before or after the NAS. They do not interfere with each other.

Regarding Jellyfin. Yes Jellyfin usually runs in Docker. QNAP supports this completely through their Container Station. Ugreen also supports Docker but the CPU limits transcoding.
