QNAP NVME

#2
Here are reliable options that will fit directly into the unit, no adapters needed:

WD Black SN850X
Available in 4 TB and very fast. Great for Plex metadata, media libraries and general SSD storage.

Samsung 990 Pro
Also available in 4 TB. Excellent sustained speeds with good thermals. A strong all round choice.

Seagate FireCuda 530
One of the most durable NVMe drives on the market. Ideal if you expect heavy read write activity.

If you want 8 TB capacity, there are fewer options, but these work well:

Sabrent Rocket 8 TB (PCIe 3 or 4 models)
QNAP systems handle these without issue. They run warm so make sure you enable QNAP’s SSD temperature controls.

A quick note on usage
For Plex media storage you do not need extreme speed. NVMe is mainly useful for apps, indexing, metadata and very fast file access. For large bulk media, HDDs remain more cost effective, but NVMe is fine if you are out of bays.

If you want to expand further later, QNAP also supports NVMe to U.2 adapters or PCIe expansion cards, but for now the native NVMe slots are the simplest route.
