Terramaster vs Ugreen

#2
Thanks for reaching out. Between the two platforms, TerraMaster actually has the more complete and mature feature set today, especially with TOS six. It includes snapshots on all models, TRAID Plus, flexible RAID migration, VM support, Docker with Compose, multi-layer backup apps, better scheduled workflows, and broader third-party app availability. UGREEN’s UGOS Pro is improving steadily, but it is still the more limited system, particularly in backup tools, VM support, and advanced permissions. If you want the richest built-in feature set right now, TerraMaster is ahead.

That said, both TerraMaster and UGREEN allow you to install third-party operating systems such as Unraid, TrueNAS Scale or Debian. So if your long-term plan is to move to ZFS, containers, or AI workloads, either platform can become a fully custom machine. In that scenario, the deciding factor becomes hardware more than software.

For drives, Seagate EXOS are the safest enterprise choice if you want maximum durability and workload rating. IronWolf is the best balance of noise, performance and price for home and small business. For SSDs, look at Kingston DC600M or WD Red SN700 for caching, or Samsung 990 Pro if you want fast NVMe pools for active project storage.
