In Need of a new Nas server unit

#2
For an architecture firm using Revit files with multiple users accessing them daily, you’ll want something that balances performance and reliability. Since you already have drives ready, a diskless NAS is the right choice.

I’d recommend either the QNAP TS-673A or the Asustor Lockerstor 6 Gen 2 (AS6706T).

The QNAP TS-673A gives you more raw power with AMD Ryzen hardware, dual 2.5GbE ports, and the ability to expand to 10GbE later. It’s great for simultaneous file access and project collaboration in Revit.

The AS6706T is slightly cheaper, quieter, and simpler to maintain. It still offers dual 2.5GbE, supports SSD caching for faster response times, and runs Docker if you need lightweight automation or project syncing tools.

Both can handle your existing WD drives, offer excellent data protection (RAID 5 or RAID 6), and will easily support 5–10 concurrent users.
