Replacement NAS

#2
If you’re happy using Synology’s own branded hard drives, the DS925+ is a great choice — compact, powerful, and very efficient. Just keep in mind it enforces that Synology-only drive policy, so flexibility is limited.

If you’d prefer to reuse existing drives or have more freedom, then the DS923+ (or other 23-series models) is still a solid pick and allows third-party HDDs without issues.

Alternatively, UGREEN’s NAS units offer great value and strong hardware with support for NVMe and lots of features out of the box, but the software isn’t quite as mature or polished yet.

If you need proper backup tools, automation, and easy multi-PC setup, Synology’s DSM software still leads in that area.
