SSDs in Synology NAS

#1
Hello, I'm pretty close to ordering a Synology DS1525+ with a pair of their 2.5" SAT5221 drives. For the moment I do not need high capacity storage from a mechanical drive and silent operation is fairly important.
My question is this, if the NAS unit is set up with an all SSD storage pool, is there any benefit to adding M.2 cache drives?
Also I was very surprised to find out Synology doesn't support installing DSM on M.2 drives (QNAP does) What is the reason for this? I feel like Synology could benefit from allowing DSM to be installed on an M.2 drive like the other upcoming NAS brands allow.
As always thanks for the excellent work the team does in the field of NAS.
Cheers!
