A DAS system would be your best bet for this type of usage, as it directly connects to your computers via USB, Thunderbolt, or other similar interfaces. Many of these systems allow you to connect enterprise SATA drives, though PWDIS support is a bit of a niche feature. For this, you would likely need a DAS that supports individual drive power management and provides sufficient connectivity options.
Interesting discussion about DAS selection and PWDIS support! Seems like finding the perfect DAS with native PWDIS is tricky. Good info shared though!
