For a straightforward and reliable 2-bay NAS, both the Synology DS223 and QNAP TS-231K are excellent choices! They both offer solid performance for file storage without unnecessary features. Pairing them with WD Red Plus or Seagate IronWolf drives in RAID 1 will give you the reliability you need.
