After Synology's hardware lock-in, I decided to pull the trigger and get a QNAP TS-464.
Main use - family photo and video backup primarily and then maybe look into Jellyfin and Docker.
I'm going for 3x 8TB Ironwolfs and then add 1x 8tb Ironwolf (currently used as cold storage).
Is it worth getting 2x 1TB SSDs for RAID 1 and install QTS on it?
I'll have the NAS in my living room so I want to keep noise at a minimum.
Also is it worth getting more ram - 2x 8GB sticks? Or would the 8GB be enough for basic media and backup?
Also should I stay with QTS or is it worth going for QuTS?
