Firstly thank for the videos, they are really helpful and hence got me thinking before buying. Geometry Dash
I presently have a DS215j running 4 cameras.
I don't use the NAS for data access much as i find it too slow. I have my NAS, PC's hard wired with a simple network switch which has POE that supplies the camera.
I presently have 4 Hikivision "DS-2CD2342WD-I".
At time when reviewing my recording i get stutters and recently missed the vital section of action because the recording missed 1-2 seconds.
I believe it is time to upgrade to hopefully stop the stutter in the recording, but the generally speed up the system, allow me to use the drive for storage better, i.e. windows explorer to show folders instantly rather delayed enumeration.
The biggest improvement would be stop false recordings of the changes to the view, i.e. sunlight and maybe trees moving.
What would you advise please ?
Thanks
Peter

While it’s served me well for a few years, I’ve started noticing some limitations. I don’t use the NAS much for file access because it feels too slow, even though everything is hardwired with a simple network switch that also powers the cameras via POE.

Currently, I’m using 4 Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I cameras. Lately, I’ve been facing occasional stutters while reviewing recordings, and worse — I recently missed a crucial moment because 1–2 seconds were skipped. This made me realize it’s time for an upgrade.
