Help with QNAP setup

#2
Congrats on the new TS-262! Glad to hear you’re happy with it overall. The constant disk activity you’re noticing is definitely a common issue when the system volume is on the same drive you use for storage, especially with apps like QCenter and QVPN that need frequent access.

You're absolutely right that moving the system volume to an SSD could help. By setting up a small SSD as your system volume, you’d offload most of the constant background processes and app activity from the HDD, which should reduce the noise significantly. Many users find this to be a great solution, as the SSD handles the app data and caching, leaving the HDD more idle when you’re not actively accessing media.

To do this, you’ll need to reset the NAS and set up the SSD as the system volume from scratch. Just keep in mind that this process will erase your current setup, so it’s worth backing up any important data first. Once that’s done, you should notice a big improvement.
