Synology Assistant

#2
It sounds like a strange issue with Synology Assistant, especially since Windows Map Drive and browser login are functioning fine. Here are a few things you can try to resolve this:

Reinstall Synology Assistant: Uninstall it completely and reinstall the latest version from Synology’s website. Sometimes a fresh install clears up odd behavior.

Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Some firewall or antivirus settings can block certain features of Synology Assistant, even if you can access the NAS via the browser. Check to see if it’s being blocked and whitelist Synology Assistant if necessary.

Run as Administrator: Right-click the Synology Assistant icon and try running it as an administrator to see if the permissions issue is preventing it from mapping drives or connecting.

Compatibility Mode: Sometimes running the program in compatibility mode (e.g., for an older version of Windows) can fix odd issues.

Network Discovery: Ensure that network discovery is enabled on your Windows machine. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Advanced Sharing Settings, and make sure Network Discovery is turned on.
