Huge fan of your articles and vids here.
I’ve just upgraded my Qnap TS-664 to 16Gb ram in preparation for switching to QuTS Hero when it becomes available.
My question is: with several of the official Qnap vid tutorials all saying to put the System pool on the ssd’s, I’m wondering if that’s best when I could maybe benefit more from putting the cache acceleration on the ssd’s instead?
My use case is very simple: single user access over SMB for video storage, running no apps on the nas at all… it’s just used as a dumb file server.
I’d welcome your opinion here.
Best regards,
Simon
