New NAS Setup on SSD's?

#2
Certainly, Jose! For your new QNAP TS-462 setup, it would be best to start by installing the two WD Red SN700 NVMe SSDs as RAID 1 and configure them as the first volume. This approach allows you to store QTS (QNAP's operating system) and all the apps, including Plex Media Server, on the SSDs, which will result in better overall performance compared to using them just as cache. Once you've set up the SSDs for the system and apps, you can then proceed to install the four Seagate IronWolf ST6000VN00451 6TB SATA HDDs as RAID 5. On these HDDs, you can create the shared Movies Folder and other storage needs. This way, you get the advantage of faster access times and smoother performance for your system and applications, while also benefiting from the larger storage capacity of the RAID 5 array for your media files and other data.
