Hello, should i buy NAS or cloud service for data backup? sole purpose is data backup and access it ones in a while, i have shortlisted DS220+ or 720+ Nas. what is the life span of these nas will it be cost effective and future proof or should i stick to online cloud storage service.

Backblaze will be a simple cloud backup. But in a long run you will realise that NAS becomes a cheaper option to backup.
You can go for a simple DS220j or other J series for simple backups. If you need something for 10 years then ds723+ or other plus series will be a good fit.
