i was going throught your videos but I think I have found one about this topic

I currently have a ds1819 and am trying to safe as much energy as possible

have you made any comparison between the power usage of HDD and SSD drives on a fully populated nas like mine

if you have any information will be great

SSD on average use 2.5W on full use
HDD use around 4-8W with the same use case.

If you plan on saving some energy, SATA SSD will do the job. And it is much faster.
