In what order do I set up my 2.5gbe switch

I bought the components to rebuild/improve my home network. I need help in how to properly set it up in the right order. I bought what I think based upon some of your recommendations the right equipment to make a 2.5gbe small network. With other 1gbe components. And need to know how I should set up the 2.5 switch? I have a cable modem that I need to know should it run to the 2.5bge port on the router? Or the 1gbe? What order do I hook up the 2.5 switch to get the faster speed from the router, 2.5 gbe asustor Nas, Mac computers with usb 2.5 adapters, and 1gbe Poe+ switch for surveillance cameras and other 1gbe devices.

Yes, 2.5GbE switches are backwards compatible.
Connect any port (or 1GbE if you have one) on your new switch to your modem/router.
You can then connect any devices that need 2.5GbE speed to this switch.
Anything else that is not important will connect to your router/model or 1gbe switch.
