We conversed last year but I'm now ready to take the leap and buy a new NAS. I have seen a synology 5 Bay enclosure second hand for £300 and watch your video on the new Seagate 18TB drives. Would these work on a older Synology DiskStation DS1515+ NAS (2GB Ram) 5 Bay Diskless. Or can you recommend a second hand site to trawl. Or should I just go with a new enclosure unit.

Yes, there should be no issues with bigger drives. Sometimes with a really
old NAS the power supply is not powerful enough to run more energy
demanding drives. But it doesn't happen often.
You may find very good deals on ds1520+ which is now being replaced though.
