TS-453D with 18TB HDDs?

Hi, thanks for your tremendously helpful videos on youtube. I am wondering if you can tell me how often Qnap increases the supported size of hard drives in their units and firmware. I know they have an approved list and there are no 18TB drives on that list currently. I am wondering if I should just keep these drives that I purchased and wait or if there is some reason that it will simply never happen with the TS-453D. It has been hard to find this information anywhere and Qnap won't commit to it NOT working, they just say it is untested and unsupported at this time.

Qnap 53D and other models will work also with 18TB drives. The only limiting factor is a power supply. But these drives do not consume any more power than others.They are just very slow at testing drives. But it will work.I hope this helps.
