Simple Use of Home Nas

Hi guys, thank you for the time.
I basically just want to replace my family and my google cloud/ icloud payment service and have us all on a nas.
Most of us only use cloud storage for photos and videos. It would be nice if the file upload is very synced and easy to use across platforms like Google Drive.
I saw the ugreen which everyone pretty much suggests but maybe i dont even need all of its features. So what do you think? I said under 200 just because I thought of 5 people or so but if it's possible to have lets say around 10 people ofc budget changes.

Thanks for getting in touch. The Ugreen platform is fine for a simple family setup, and it has a clean interface that feels familiar if you are used to cloud services. Just keep in mind that the software is still quite new and very beta in places, so some features are not as polished as they will eventually be. If you are happy to live with a few early stage quirks, it can do the job for basic photo and video backups.

If you prefer something more established right now, Synology or QNAP are the safer choices. Their mobile apps for photo backup and file sync are mature, stable, and easy for non technical family members to use. A small unit like the Synology DS223 or QNAP TS 230 will give you a reliable home cloud that works across iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS.
