Ok, I did this on my 918+, but my speeds are actually are slower than normal. 370 instead of 950. Any ideas as to why?

Thanks for reaching out! The slower speeds you’re experiencing could be due to a bottleneck somewhere in your network setup. While the Wavlink USB-to-5GbE adapter adds 5GbE capability to your DS918+, the rest of your network needs to support 5GbE as well for you to see the full benefits.
Here are a couple of things to check: Switch Support Make sure your network switch has 5GbE ports. If the switch is only 1GbE, the adapter will still be limited by that bottleneck. Connected Devices Verify that any devices you're transferring data to/from also have 5GbE or higher network connections. A slower device on the other end will cap your speeds. Cable Quality Ensure that you’re using CAT6 or better Ethernet cables to handle 5GbE speeds. Lower-rated cables can limit performance. |
