Hello can you help me find a NAS motherboard that will fit my needs? I would like to build my own DIY NAS that will have a small form factor, be powerful, and power efficiency. I will be planning to run a Plex/Jellyfin server with 4k/8k transcoding. I will also be running lots of Docker containers, possibly VMs, and storing my photos that use AI machine learning algorithms. It needs to have at least a 10gbps LAN and 5+ SATA ports. Maybe future proof it. All the motherboards I could find did not match my needs. Thank you.

For your DIY NAS build with requirements for 4K/8K transcoding, Docker containers, VMs, and AI machine learning, I recommend using the latest hardware to meet your needs effectively. Here’s a solution based on your requirements:
Motherboard and CPU:
Consider using a motherboard compatible with the latest Intel 13th Gen i7 or i5 CPUs. These processors offer strong performance for transcoding and running multiple applications. Look for motherboards with at least 5 SATA ports and support for 10Gbps LAN, such as:
ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi or MSI MEG Z790 ACE. Both are high-performance motherboards that offer the features you need.
GPU Card:
For 4K/8K transcoding and AI machine learning, you will need a powerful dedicated GPU. Options like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or RTX 4070 would be suitable for these tasks. Ensure the motherboard has a compatible PCIe slot for the GPU.
Additional Considerations:
Make sure the motherboard has sufficient PCIe slots and RAM support for future expansion.
Consider a high-quality, efficient power supply to support both the CPU and GPU.
This setup should provide the performance and future-proofing you need for your NAS build.
