Most new Raid systems don't provide bit rot protection?

#1
Exclamation
I just watched this video from level1tech about how most modern  raid systems don't properly correct bit rot or parity errors. This was shocking to me.  Seems like only ZFS provides the error checking and correction and all of these NAS systems are not protecting our data? Please provide your opinion on this problem stated in this clip. Perhaps a YouTube episode is in order?

Thanks,

I understand your concerns about data protection, especially given the information from the Level1Tech video. While it's true that ZFS is well-regarded for its advanced error checking and correction capabilities, many modern RAID systems, like those using BTRFS, still provide solid data protection through features like data scrubbing and snapshots. In practice, these technologies help ensure data integrity, and it's rare to hear about significant data loss on well-maintained NAS systems. While ZFS does offer more advanced features, it also typically requires more powerful hardware, which may come with a higher cost.
