I'm setting up my home surveillance system. Right now planning 5 4k cameras ran via POE. I have been looking at the Synology DVA3221 and QNAP QVP41B. I have been unable to find a source of comparison between the 2. I have found videos on each but none that cover the same aspects. What would you recommend and why? What surveillance drives would you recommend, I have no experience with this type of drive.
I am somewhat familiar with Synology as I am currently using a DS920+ with WD Red Pro drives, but want my surveillance to be separate and want the AI features.
Thanks for your help!

Both the Synology DVA3221 and QNAP QVP41B are powerful surveillance systems that offer advanced AI features for analyzing and managing video footage. However, there are some differences between the two that you should consider when making your decision.
The Synology DVA3221 is based on Synology's DSM operating system and integrates with the company's Surveillance Station software. It offers features such as deep learning algorithms for object detection and tracking, real-time event detection, and people and vehicle detection. It also supports up to 32 cameras and can handle up to 5 channels of 4K video streaming.
On the other hand, the QNAP QVP41B is based on the QVR Pro operating system and includes advanced features such as AI-powered video analytics, real-time alerts, and event management. It supports up to 8 channels of 4K video streaming and can handle up to 128 cameras.
When it comes to surveillance drives, both Synology and QNAP offer their own branded drives designed specifically for surveillance systems. For Synology, the IronWolf Health Management drives are recommended, while for QNAP, the Seagate SkyHawk AI drives are recommended. These drives are designed to handle the high demands of continuous video recording and playback.
In terms of which system to choose, it really depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you are already familiar with Synology and its software, the DVA3221 may be the better choice for you. However, if you need a more scalable solution that can support a larger number of cameras, the QVP41B may be a better fit.
