RAM for Synology DS920+ NAS ?

Question.. I know maximum RAM is 8GB for DS920+, but I hear users use 16GB without issue.

-- Is 16GB RAM (2 x 8GB) really a problem to be avoided?
-- I understand there are warrantee issues, but are there stability issues or other use issues that would steer away from the 16GB RAM option?

Yes, Synology only recommends their own 8GB RAM upgrade limit. But there have been thousands of people upgrading with Crucial memory with no issues.Performance is the same, just Synology is trying to show a warning message to convince you to buy their RAM.I hope this helps.
