This is for my dental office and I will be backing up patients charts and X-rays. I will probably need to back up 4-6TB max. I also like to steam 100 Disney movies to 10 TVs. I am looking for a solution. I was hoping to get synology DS1525+ but with 10 TVs, I hear QNAP is best choice but not as polished.
I was thinking 3 drives to back up dental , and 2 drives for movies.
I want a new model

Thanks for reaching out. For a business environment like a dental office, especially where you’re backing up sensitive patient data, the Synology DS1525+ paired with Synology-branded drives would be the safest and most stable option. It’s well-supported, polished, and benefits from long-term software updates — ideal for ensuring reliability and compliance.
That said, if you’re prioritising media streaming — especially to multiple TVs — the QNAP TS-664 offers better multimedia support, particularly for local playback and media management via Plex or DLNA. It’s a good hybrid option for both media and backups in one box, provided you’re comfortable with a bit more technical configuration.
And if you’re planning to stream 4K movies remotely or to a more demanding number of displays, the QNAP TVS-h674 or TVS-h874 series would be worth considering. These have stronger CPUs, GPU options, and better support for simultaneous hardware-accelerated transcoding — particularly useful if not all your TVs can play files natively.
