Congratulations on your QNAP TS-262 NAS! The Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB drives you've selected are a solid option for your setup. Here's a quick breakdown of their benefits:
NAS Optimization: The Pro drives are designed for NAS environments, offering firmware enhancements like AgileArray for optimal RAID performance.
High Performance: With a 7200 RPM speed and 256MB cache, the Pro series provides faster performance, which is great for multitasking or streaming.
Durability: They come with a 5-year warranty and a 3-year Rescue Data Recovery plan, providing excellent long-term reliability.
If quiet operation is a priority, you might also consider the standard Seagate IronWolf (non-Pro) drives. These:
Run at 5900 RPM, which can make them quieter and more energy-efficient.
Are still highly reliable for most home NAS use cases, especially if your workloads aren't as intensive.
Are a more cost-effective option if you don’t require the Pro-level durability and performance.
Both options are excellent, but the choice depends on whether performance or quietness better suits your needs. Let me know if you'd like further guidance on RAID setups or configurations!
