Synology DS423+ for plex with 20tb drives?

#1
Heya, sorry to bother you with stupid questions, I've two 20tb WD reds that I have connected to a windows server at the moment due to rising power costs I want to move them to a nas.

I'm trying to find a powerefficient nas that can run plex and has room for upgrades. The DS423+ seems to fit the bill but it doesn't officially support WD Red 20TB drives.
Does this mean I'm out of luck or can I unofficially use them with risks?

Hi there! No need to worry about "stupid questions"; we're here to help! The Synology DS423+ is indeed a power-efficient NAS that can handle Plex and offers room for upgrades. While it doesn't have official support for the WD Red 20TB drives, you can still use them unofficially with some considerations. Synology's compatibility list ensures optimal performance and reliability, but using drives not on the list can still work. You may see a warning message, but it's generally safe to use them. If you decide to proceed with the WD Red 20TB drives, keep an eye on their performance and stability.
