Qnap Full System Level Backup

#1
Good day guys,

Quick question. Are there any backup applications/options or a way in which to backup the entire system state not just data e.g. System settings, user accounts & applications. So in case of failure the NAS can be restored without having to go back through setting up QTS and network settings, user accounts, installing and configuring applications etc?

QTS allows you to backup the system configuration via the GUI.

https://docs.qnap.com/operating-system/q...9DB9E.html

Backup/Restore Settings

Back up System Settings: To back up all the settings, including the user accounts, server name, network configuration and so on, click "Backup" and select to open or save the setting file.

Restore System Settings: To restore all the settings, click "Browse" to select a previously saved setting file and click "Restore".

This might be just the first step in your requirements, but other than your data it's probably the most important one.

Qnap do not have their own software allowing to achieve full system backup. To restore you still need to set up a NAS first and only then you can run recovery procedure.
Synology are working on this feature and might soon have full backup option available.
In meantime, you can try Acrosnis server backup since all NAS run on Linux backend.

I hope this helps.
