Choice of NAS

#1
HI, I have a TS 269l I would like to replace as it is getting on in age. I use it as a NAS for movies, photos, personal files and application copies, It is backed up to external drives. I use Twonky as a media server.

The TS-269L has served people well, but it is definitely time for an upgrade. For your use case — movies, photos, documents and basic media serving — you do not need anything extreme, but you will benefit from a more modern CPU, better security updates and faster SMB performance.

With your AU$1000 budget, these are the best replacements:

QNAP TS-262 or TS-264
A direct, modern successor to what you already use.
Faster CPU, much better UI, better photo handling, and excellent SMB speeds.
Fully supports Twonky, Plex, and DLNA.
Quiet, low power, and a perfect home replacement for your TS-269L.
