DS423+ RAM UPGRADE

#1
Thank you for your post ?
It has been invaluable in letting me choose which memory card to buy!
I went for the mid-priced Timetek 16GB card.

After a few hiccups, I discovered another post that recommended removing ant nvme cache (in the correct way via System Manager).
Having done that, I added the RAM card (without any disks or ssd) ... and it wax recognised !!
The added the 4x 12TB disks back in.
Finally, I re-inserted the 2 WD Black 1TB nvme cards.

Everything all working OK ???
Keep up the good work ,
Geoff

Thanks so much for the kind words β€” really glad the guide helped steer you in the right direction!

Great to hear the Timetek 16GB module worked out, and especially that you figured out the NVMe cache removal step β€” it’s one that catches a lot of users off guard when upgrading memory on the DS423+. Sounds like you handled it like a pro with a clean install order too (RAM first, then drives, then cache). That kind of careful setup usually pays off in long-term system stability.

Appreciate you sharing your success β€” always great for the community and for anyone else considering a similar upgrade. Hope the DS423+ gives you solid performance for years to come.
