Hi there!
Thanks for your videos and expertise.
I bought a Synology NAS DS1522+ and currently have three Hard Drives working on RAID Basic: a 6TB (bay 1), 8TB (bay 2) and 12TB (bay 3), so they are three independent volumes. I'm ripping my CD and blu-ray, 4K collection and I'm running out of space. The thing is I'd like to replace the 8TB disc with a 12TB disc and I'm afraid I'm not sure how to do it.
The way I see it: Put the new 12 TB on an empty bay (say bay 4) and transfer all the data from the 8 TB (which is on bay 2) onto the 12 TB, remove the 8TB disc and then place the new 12 TB disc on bay 2 again instead of the 8 TB. Is it the way to do it? I hope it makes sense. English is not my mother tongue.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Best
Manuel
