Plex movies

I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing but hope it helps me get movies on plex

if the goal is simply to get your movie files into Plex and start watching them, you only need three basic steps and it’s much simpler than it looks at first. First, place your movie files into a single folder on your NAS or computer, ideally named something clear like Movies. Plex prefers each movie in its own folder with the movie name and year, for example The Matrix (1999), but it will work even if everything is in one folder at the start. Second, open Plex on your device, go to Libraries, create a new Movies library, and point Plex to the folder where your movie files are stored. Plex will scan it and download posters and info automatically. Third, make sure Plex is running on the device you’re using as your server, whether that’s your NAS, PC or laptop, and that the device you watch on (TV, phone, tablet) is signed into the same Plex account. You’ll then see all your films appear in the Plex app.

If you later move to a proper NAS like the QNAP TVS h874 you were reading about, Plex becomes even easier because the NAS does all the organising and storage in the background. For now though, you only need a folder with your movies and Plex pointed at it, and you’ll be up and running.
