Synology transcoding

It sounds like it's just a flip of a switch for Synology to enable or disable hardware transcoding. Why don't you suggest they go to a subscription based model for hardware transcoding?

Honestly yes, a subscription model for hardware transcoding would make sense. It would let people who actually need the feature pay for it and avoid all the licensing drama. But Synology rarely follows outside feedback. They tend to make decisions entirely on their own roadmap and stick to it, even when users ask for something obvious.

Maybe one day they will rethink it, but for now they keep the feature locked to their own apps and ignore the rest.
