hdd activity is loud on this case

Good day,

Is there any way to quiet hdd vibration noise on Jonsbo N6 case? I have 3 Western Red drives and it's insaenely loud. I added tiny pieces of foam on drive trays but it didn't help. thanks

The N6 is known for amplifying drive vibration, so what you’re hearing is very normal for that case. The quickest fixes are silicone washers or grommets on the drive screws and not tightening the screws fully. That usually cuts the noise dramatically. Adding a bit of damping material on the drive cage also helps more than foam does.

Another thing to consider is using a separate SSD for the system and apps. That lets your HDDs spin down when not in use, which reduces both noise and heat. With the N6 this makes a noticeable difference day to day.
