Compatibility of disks

#1
Been wanting to get the UGREEN DH2300 but currently only have a single ironwolf pro 6TB (ST6000NT001), and will be getting another one to work in Raid 1. It is however, not on the compatibility list on the official site, so I am quite hesitant to make the move. Any advice or thoughts?

The IronWolf Pro six terabyte drive you have, the ST6000NT001, will work perfectly fine in the DH2300 even if it is not listed on Ugreen’s official compatibility page. Vendors often publish very small lists during early stages, but the DH2300 uses a standard SATA backplane and has no special requirements for NAS drives. Seagate IronWolf and IronWolf Pro models have been tested by many users without issues.

If your plan is to buy a second identical drive and run RAID one that is a completely safe setup for this system. The only thing that you might want to check is that both drives are healthy before creating the array. Run a SMART extended test on the existing drive and you will be good to go.
