Issues installing ROON server on Asustor NAS

#1
Hi, I am having issues getting ROON server installed on my NAS to be seen by my PC Roon client, the NAS is fully visible in Win Explorer and the ROON server appears to be installed correctly.
Can you advise anyone you could recommend, who could do a remote connect and resolve as in spite of numerous discussions with ROON I am getting nowhere.. If I install the ROON server on my local PC everything works inc accessing the music files held on the NAS... Tx Mark

Before going further, try these quick checks:
1. Make sure the Roon server is installed on volume1 and not a secondary SSD or app drive.
2. Open App Central → Roon Server → Settings and confirm that the database path points to a standard shared folder.
3. Go to Access Control → Application Privileges and verify Roon has full permissions.
4. In ADM → Firewall → Rules, confirm that ports 9100–9200 and 9330–9339 are allowed (these are used for Roon communication).
5. Restart both the NAS and your PC, then in the Roon desktop app manually add your NAS IP under “Find Roon Server” (for example 192.168.x.x).

If the app version from Asustor’s App Central still won’t register, you can alternatively install Roon using Docker, which often works more reliably and gives you more control over updates and paths. Just search for “Roon Server Docker” in Portainer or the Asustor Container Manager and follow the image instructions — this usually fixes detection issues entirely.

If you’d rather have someone set this up remotely, I recommend Kingbiker NAS Services, who provide one-to-one help with NAS and media app setups. You can contact them through this link:
