What memory should I add in a 1825+ synology ?
The Synology DS1825+ supports up to 32GB of DDR4 ECC memory, and for best compatibility and performance, Synology recommends their official modules:
• Synology D4ES01-8G (8GB ECC SODIMM) • Synology D4ES01-16G (16GB ECC SODIMM) However, if you’re looking to expand more affordably and are comfortable using third-party memory (especially if you don’t need Synology support), then many users have had success with Crucial and Kingston Server Premier ECC SODIMM modules: • Crucial CT16G4SFD832A – 16GB DDR4-3200 ECC SODIMM • Kingston KSM26SED8/16ME – 16GB DDR4-2666 ECC SODIMM (slightly slower, but often cheaper and fully stable) You can mix the original Synology RAM with compatible ECC modules, but for maximum stability it’s best to either match both slots with identical modules or replace the original entirely with a matched pair (2x16GB if going to 32GB). |
