Cheap Synology NAS for Plex 4K Streaming

Was just wondering what the smallest and cheapest Synology NAS is that can stream 4K movie files over my LAN via Plex. My playback device is a Google Chromecast 4K, which I don't think can do transcoding.

For local 4K streaming over your LAN, almost any Synology NAS will be sufficient, including budget models like the J Series or DS124. These can handle direct play of 4K content to your Chromecast 4K without any issues, as long as you're not transcoding. The J Series models, like the DS120j, and the DS124 are affordable options that can easily stream 4K to your Chromecast.
