Personal NAS

#1
Hello there,

I need a home NAS mostly for storing and accessing photos. I don't need much storage for now so probably I would go for 2 bays with 8TB in total. What's most important for me is the ease of back-up and access from my windows PC and my android phone. Also, any possible RAM upgrade would be a big plus. I would like to be able to easily organize my photos as well. So it's kind of a replacement for google photos + some other back-ups that I will rarely use.

Based on your needs and budget, both the Synology DS723+ and QNAP TS-264 would be great options to consider.

Synology DS723+: This 2-bay NAS offers robust software for managing and backing up your photos. It also has upgradeable RAM (up to 8GB), which could be useful if your needs grow over time. It integrates well with Windows and Android for easy access and backup.

QNAP TS-264: This model also provides excellent photo management options and comes with 4GB of RAM (upgradeable to 8GB), which is a bonus if you want more flexibility for future use. It’s perfect for managing photos and providing remote access via both your PC and Android devices.

Both fit well within your budget and offer good expansion potential for the future.
