Looking for DAS, what brands are there. And your opinion on which DAS.

There are quite few options. First, you need to decide about the connection. SATA, SAS, USB3, USB3.2 or Thunderbolt.
If we presume you need the fastest option, I would recommend Areca, Pegasus, Promise, Lacie big or Terramaster Thunderbolt DAS boxes.
The second thing is the number of bays. And the last thing is there a hardware RAID card built in the DAS or is it software RAID.
