I want to buy a NAS for backup, large storage, quick file/data search and location (images, music, videos, and documents), media player, remote access, smart home, 24/7 downloads, etc.
I'm undecided between the Zettlab D8 Ultra and the Ugreen IDX6011 Pro.
Advantages and disadvantages:
Zettlab:
. Recent and less developed software/operating system than Ugreen;
. Small community and little documentation.
. I have 96GB of Crucial DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM available.
Ugreen:
. Only 6 bays, which means I will only use 1 redundancy HDD (RAID 5), unlike the Zettlab which has 8 bays and 2 HDDs (RAID 6);
. Soldered DDR5 RAM, which means that in case of failure, the entire equipment will be unusable.
I'd like to initially install 4 HDDs in RAID 6/RAID 5 and later increase the pool with more HDDs as needed, without having to create a new pool. Is this possible with these models? What is the HDMI version of these models?
What's your opinion and which one should I buy?
