I have a quadro p1000 for transcoding but its playing up have you got another recommendation or should i stick with this?

Thanks for the message. The Quadro P1000 can work for Plex, but it is an older card and it is common to see instability or driver quirks on newer QNAP builds. If it is already playing up, I would not spend too much time trying to force it to behave.

For the TVS h874X the most reliable drop in replacements tend to be low power Nvidia cards that support NVENC properly. A GTX 1650 (non super version) is usually the sweet spot. It has modern hardware encoding, low heat, low power draw, and it works well inside QNAP systems without stressing the PSU or producing excess noise. For pure Plex duties it is a noticeable step up from the P1000.

If you want something even simpler, the Intel graphics inside the h874X can handle a surprising amount of Plex work on their own as long as your media is mostly H264 and H265. In many home setups this is enough without a GPU.
