xyber hydra N150

#1
Dear sirs,
I am about to buy a xyber hydra and was wondering if you could advise me on what thickness of pads I should fit between the drives and the metal cover. I can choose between o.5, 1 and 1.5 mm so far.

Thank you for your advice in advance!

For the Xyber Hydra N150, the optimal thermal pad thickness between the drives and the metal cover usually depends on slight variances in drive height and the tolerances of the case, but based on community testing and teardown analysis:
• 1mm thermal pads are typically the safest and most balanced choice.
They provide firm contact without putting excess pressure on the drive or bending the cover.
• 0.5mm might not make good enough contact, especially if there’s even a small gap.
• 1.5mm can be a bit too thick and may cause uneven pressure unless the lid has a bit of flex.

So I’d recommend starting with 1mm pads for your drives. If you’re using thinner SSDs (like DRAM-less models), you could try 1.5mm in those specific locations, but 1mm is the most consistent choice.
