Congrats on getting your domain and setting up WordPress on your NAS!
To connect your domain to your WordPress site, you’ll need to follow these steps: Get a static IP or use DDNS Ideally, you’ll want a static IP for your home network so that your NAS has a fixed address on the internet. If you don’t have a static IP, you can use a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service, which will automatically update your domain to match your changing IP address (for example, yourname.myasustor.com). Set up port forwarding In your router, forward port 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS) to your NAS. This allows external devices to reach your NAS when you type in your domain name. Update your domain’s DNS settings Log in to your domain registrar (like GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.). Add an A record that points to your static IP or a CNAME record pointing to your DDNS address if you don’t have a static IP. Configure Virtual Host in ADM Open Web Center in ADM, and set up a Virtual Host for your domain, linking it to your WordPress folder. Make sure WordPress is configured to use your domain name under Settings > General in the WordPress dashboard. (Optional but recommended): Set up HTTPS using Let’s Encrypt for an SSL certificate, which will secure your connection. Once you’ve completed those steps, your domain should point to your WordPress site hosted on your NAS! If you don’t have a static IP, I recommend checking out DDNS services like No-IP or DynDNS, which will handle updating your IP automatically for you. |
