Startech Dual M.2

#1
Hi, I have an Synology DS918+, thanks to your video I don't need cache.?.
I have 2 RAID 1 1Tb SSD volumes using al 4 bays, and would like to expand.
I see the 2 Startech Dual M.2 SATA-600 cases:
- https://www.startech.com/en-eu/hdd/s322m225r and
- https://www.startech.com/en-eu/hdd/25s22m2ngffr
I really would like to know if and how this works in a Synology NAS DSM6.x and/or DSM7.x in a RAID 1 setup. Would that mean you could expand the 4 bay DS918+ to a 4 volumes 1Tb Raid 1 .
Maybe you can/would like to make a video about these Dual M.2 cases and using it in a NAS(Synology/QNAP/Other)

I’m glad my video was helpful! When it comes to expanding your Synology DS918+ with the Startech Dual M.2 SATA-600 cases, there are some important points to consider.

These adapters won’t show additional drives individually in your NAS. Instead, if you use an adapter with built-in RAID, it will appear as a single drive to your NAS. This means you can set up the drives in RAID 1, but they will be recognized as one combined volume.

This could still be a great way to expand your storage, but just keep in mind the limitation on how the drives are presented to the system.
