| Cheap Home Nas ? |

I will use the nas in a home environment and I will need features such as USB drive copy button. Silent while not reading or writing to the drive. for data redundancy, the important data can be copied to an external USB drive, or manually backed up to a cd(so I don't need data redundancy until I run out of storage and buy another HDD) The speed of the nas is not very important but it shud not be slow either.

Hi,
I was thinking to buy a TS-673 from Qnap, but it would likely not be sufficient for also allowing me to install a Docker with Sonarr, Radarr, Plex and the various downloaders. Therefore, I thought to build a Linux box to run a docker with those apps and also incorporate FreeNas.
Now the question is: Are there apps for Freenas like Qnap and Synology (Photo Station, Time Machine, Memories, access files from anywhere)?
Thank you,

| DAS for RAID-6 or SHR-2 TYPE CONFIG? |

I am wanting to invest in an emulator system, which will require 34-40TB of disk space, and to have a local hard drive letter D: in order to install and maintain the games. Having a NAS from someone like Synology obviously will not work, as it would behave as mapped instead of physical drive.
I have a USB-C port on the back of my NVidia graphics card which I could utilize for connection, but I do not have the Thunderbolt 3 that I see in various DAS configurations.
Any ideas on a good manufacturer, and maybe few brands I should be aiming towards? In the past I have settled for a Drobo, which I guess would be fine for just storage without a lot of additional features. This might be okay, but wanted to bounce it off of you for advice, as this is much more of your cup of tea.
