To sync or symlink, that is the question...?

Hi everyone, here’s the photo setup I’m trying to accomplish in Moments: 2 separate personal accounts that store individual photos from before 2013 & a family account where all photos/videos since ‘13 are stored. I enabled the shared library, so I can be logged into my personal account and see my photos as well as our family shared photos. Both my wife and I are backing our iPhones up to the family account (Home>Family>Drive>Moments). The issue is that I have to do a manual copy from the Family account to the /Photos folder for the pics and videos to show up in the shared library. Taking all this into consideration, I’m wondering the best way to sync the Family Moments folder with the /Photo folder. Is it better to symlink the Family moments folder to the /Photo folder or create a script that runs nightly to copy its contents to /Photo? Ideally I would like to prevent duplicate copies (same photos in the Family Moments folder and the /Photo folder). Help please :D

Moving data from old nas to new nas?

I have DS411 with four 2TB drives. The raid configuration on two drives is set to Basic (with out protection) and the other two are set to Synology hybrid raid SHR (with out protection) The DS411 is not supported by migration assistant for the source . So here is my Question, Can I set up the DS1019 with one 12tb drive, then insert the old drives to copy the data, then discard those old drives? Thank you for your time.

Rebuilding storage pool - Super slow to log-in?

HI all - I started upgrading my DS218+ with two new 4TB drives on Friday. I replaced the first one, which repaired overnight... All fine. I replaced the second drive at lunchtime yesterday - It was still repairing last night. This morning, logging into DSM is taking almost 10 minutes... and everything is crawling. Do I just leave it alone for now? Can I force restart when the storage pool is being repaired?

Bitrot Protected NAS- Best Option For Super Long Term Storage And Protection Of Data Corrosion?

Bitrot Qnap Ext4 Looking for a long term cold storage (the data is not used actively anymore) option for about 30TB of data and was looking at QNAP RAID 6 option as base for this backup. (I will have individual 3 x 10 TB drives offsite as well (2 off site locations)). I know the Raid 6 will give me drive failure protection, but activating scrubbing, will that be the best option for super long term storage and protection of data corrosion? Plus, if I power this NAS down, how often should I power it up to perform this scrubbing? My real big concern is data loss from bitrot over long periods of time.
